AUUUGHH I HAD WRITTEN THIS AND ACCIDENTALLY ERASED IT AND OMG PLEASE JUST KILL ME NOW. IT TOOK ME A WHOLE HOUR. I'M RESUMING THIS BECAUSE AAUAUUGHG I JUST WANNA KILL SOMEONE!!!!!

Okay, now that we got that out of the way. I’ve been in this fandom for about three years, or four, and in the time I’ve been here either lurking, admiring the bad and good art alike, the stories, the ocs, the cosplays and other things. It has come to my attention, as like many of all of you, that the fandom began to grown so much, that it was only a matter of time before the rabid fangirls would increase in number and soon take over the Creepypasta fandom. Like in all fandoms, and the majority I’ve been in, there is always that small group that makes the rest of us look bad, yes, in all fandoms, and what do we do to fix that and maintain our image clean as to not freak out, but welcome with a good reputation those new to the fandom? We try to push the bad back and the good up front. We… are sadly not winning the battle in all honesty. But let’s be honest here, whether you like it or not, you may or may not have been once one of those rabid fans that wanted to have long make out sessions with your favorite creepypasta, and would shun everyone that dared hurt your precious baby, I for one have been through that phase and I don’t hide it, in fact, I embrace it, because if I had not been such a weaboo before, it would have never let me to contribute to the fandoms I love fanfics, let them be horrible yes, but I felt as If I was doing something important to the fandom, with shitty art and horrible written fanfiction.

And what happens once we start to find the other appealing parts of the fandom? WE GET OVER IT. But others…. Don’t (And I swear I just want to punch them sooo hard, not all of them, but the annoying ones) I mean… what happened to the CP fandom that everyone loved, the one made of awesome people with great ocs (again, not the whole fandom because there are people now that are awesome) the good stories that made us cry and shit our pants at night when we ever so slightly see a shadow in our room, window, heck, even in the bathroom? What happened to the GOOD stuff from back then? When Jeff was ACTUALLY scary? When Slenderman was RESPECTED. What happened to all of that?

Creepypasta fandom you say? I’m sorry, never heard of it. Do you by any chance mean the Kawaiipasta fandom? Ah yes, I know it, the one with the sugoi yaoi art, where Jane the killer is a bitch who should die for getting in between people’s precious awesome ships that everyone should ship and those who don’t deserve to die? Ah yeah, and don’t forget the ooc of the Canon characters when paired up with ocs that are just as bad and their eyes sparkle and they’re hot as fuck and love each other? Yeah.  (please note Im a fujoshi)

I’m not mad when you ship your ocs with canon characters, in fact, I encourage it because I like to see people’s creativity flow, that’s one of the things I like about life. But making the canon characters ooc just to be with your oc? NO.
When you’re making an oc, try to be ORIGINAL, try to come up with your own ideas. Look, im sorry, but if you have an oc called Jill The Killer who wears a white hoody, black pants and has long black hair with a burnt face that’s now white and ripped their mouth opened, then I will not respect you or you oc. Do you know how HARD it is to get me pissed off? Well, it’s REALLY HARD. And somehow this fandom manages to do it (again not referring to everyone) and the only reason I have yet to leave is because I have small loving to this fandom.

When you make an oc, don’t end it with a “the killer”, it’s not original, plan your oc, take as much time as you need, it’ll be worth it. I have my own CP oc and I’m still seeking any flaws on her, and she will probably not be done until next year around June.  I want her to creep people out, I want her to be the reason as to why people can’t close their eyes when they sleep, that’s why they’re called Creepypasta. Killers aren’t supposed to shine bright like freaking diamonds, they aren’t supposed to be cutesy (unless intended) and they are sure not supposed to give up killing/torturing because they fell in love. And for the love of everything that’s creepy and gorey. DO NOT SAY THEY HAVE AN UNKNOWN BACKGROUND BECAUSE IT JUST SCREAMS NO IMAGINATION LIKE SERIOUSLY!!! DUDE. Again, you are allowed to ignore me and my rant, because I am not the one in charge of making ocs, I do not have power over you, I do not make the rules. Go wild, but think about it. Do you really want your oc to be recognized by being an awesome oc or by being the worst?

I Think that’s all I have to say on the matter of ocs? Let’s go to the fanfics, specifically reader inserts since I am more associated with these. But first let me tell you two things. Do you know that this fandom is mostly composed of bad fanfics, especially bad, ooc reader inserts? No. Well now you know :D (at least is something me and a couple of people have noticed, don't take this as official)  and the other one is a little story.

If you are one of my smexy watchers, you should know I said a while ago that 2014 will be my year of Creepypasta focused reader inserts only, because Homestuck, well, I write a lot for that fandom and since I also like writing CP x Reader I would prefer working on my grammar, detailing, writing and whatevs with this fandom. Well, there’s this group of girls (rabid fangirls) who found my dA (why would I post my Facebook link on my dA? Beats me) and read ALL of my fics, they complained about the lack of yaoi between Jeff and slendy and trios with BEN. They also complained that there is not enough lemons (I don’t write that shit, I only read it) and no enough kissing/romantic scenes and I’M making it seem like Reader and the CP hate each other. Do you know how much self-control it takes to just not grab a pen and gouge their eyes out with it? No? Well it takes a lot. Then they just gave me the names of reader inserts (awfully written like wow) fic I should read, but I had read them back in my “I WUV YOU JEFFY!! KISS ME!!!1!11!!” phase and I can’t look at them anymore because it seems THAT ALMOST EVERY SINGLE FANFIC THAT BELONGS TO THIS FANDOM (READER INSERT WISE) IS WRITTEN BY 10 YEAR OLDS. Which might even be the case, again, I’m not saying EVERY fanfic it’s like that, and there are a lot (yeah, I didn’t say some) of REALLY talented writers that I wish would teach me their ways because in all honesty, my fics ain’t even that good.

Story ends here.

What I’m trying to say is, be ORIGINAL when it comes to writing fanfics. Seriously, if for every fanfic where –insert fav cp here- tries to kill Reader-chan, they fall in love, CP takes her to the Creepypasta Mansion (who the fuck even made that up?) (and it’s always in a forest, and the mansion looks abandoned but in the inside it’s like fucking Christmas) and Reader-chan becomes a tote sexy CP that all guys wanna bang, the end. I WOULD BE BLOODY  RICH.

I go by my headcannon that says: if a CP is to engage in a relationship with Reader/oc then the relationship will be abusive and unhealthy.

Why? Because we’re dealing with crazy people, demons, killers, you name it, they have problems. You just CAN’T expect a demon to stop killing just because he met you, NOOOOOO. Instead, his attention could be centered around you an they might deceive you into thinking that they care for you and just repeatedly hurt you (holy frick am I describing one of my headcannon for BEN?)

And for the love of everything good In the world. USE GOOD GRAMMAR AND SPELLCHECK, THEY ARE YOUR FRIENDS. AND NO, MASKY ISN’T A CHEESECAKE LOVER AND JACK DOES NOT GO AROUND EVERY SINGLE FUCKING MINUTE ASKING PEOPLE IF THEY WANT THEIR KIDNEYS OR NOT! THE MOTHERFUCKER WILL MOST LIKELY DRUG YOU AND TAKE IT OUT.

And please, PLEAAAASEEEEEEEEEEEEE UNDERSTAND THAT MASKY AND HOODIE ARE NOT, I REPEAT, NOT, SLENDERMAN’S PROXIES. THEY AREN’T CREEPYPASTA, THEY ARE MARBLE HORNETS (that doesn't make a lot of sense).  ALSO, (SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER RIGHT AHEAD DON’T KEEP READING OR DO IT IDC) MASKY IS TIM AND TIM IS MASKY AND WHOOPS.
So please stop it with the:

Masky and Hoodie belong to Creepypasta.

I guess that’s all? Again, you are free to ignore me yo. Have anything you need to rant about? Comment. I wanted to say something about the cosplay, but I won’t so yeah. pfft and sorry about all the cursing?
you guys, i'm serious, i don't tend to rant, that's not my thing but I needed to get this out (and much more, but it doesn't really matter?)

Jeff wasn't even scary at all in the first place. His story has several grammatical error, cliche .etc so to summed it up it is not a good story at all.

'When Jeff was ACTUALLY scary? When Slenderman was RESPECTED. What happened to all of that?'

Their popularity reached breaking point, essentially becoming known enough so that the fear is eliminated, it doesn't help you have these characters shipped in the same damn boat every two seconds. I read some of these fanfics, and they seem to throw the art of writing horror fiction out of the window. And I thought some of my early stories were cringe worthy. If anything these stories should be regarded as parody pastas, and have a separate genre in itself. I feel like people are just throwing the classics in the dump because of bad writing and clichés. In my mind, instead of dumping them on the wayside, reinvent them. Anyone, and I mean anyone can take the character of Jeff the Killer and make him terrifying. It's what I'm trying to do with my story, Time to Kill.

On that note I know that there are without doubt some exceptionally talented writers, it just saddens me that so many of the classics have been softened to the point of no return, and makes the whole term creepypasta nearly redundant

Actually, it does matter... How's the creepypasta fandom gonna keep it's creepiness if too many of these rabid fangirls keep cutesifying every creepypasta with love-sick shippings? I mean, I worry about this trend turning creepypastas into a joke...

I originally got into this fandom thinking of all kinds of terrors and horrors lurking out everywhere I look... Stories like Ben Drowned, the Slenderman mythos, Jeff the Killer all scared the holy crapolian out of me like I've never read a scary story in my life... I'm a HUGE horror/suspense/thriller fan, and I wanted to write stuff that scared readers like those original stories did way back... We need to bring the "creepy" back in creepypastas!!! ( >_< )

I think the Creepypasta mansion method is overused. Then there's the fact that people believe and force the characters into a bunch of stereotypes just for the sake of shipping.

Hate to admit it but I was once an obsessive fangirl when I discovered Creepypasta one year ago. I did everything you shouldn't of done but learned to make your OC unique.
She has red hair, paired with another OC and she's not like any canon character.

I have another one who's an ex Marine from the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired after 3 years and got into mischief after.

Some of them aren't insane who kill for the joy of it. If they do, they do it because of childhood disasters. Some kill for survival.

The creepypasta fandom had turned upside down

I agree with most of this, but I want to point out something...
I'm currently trying to create a CP OC, Dragon. And I know what I want as a back story for her... But gosh darn it, writing creepy deliberately is HARD! I come from writing Storm Hawks, Twilight, and Labyrinth fanfictions. They're almost ALL romance and fantasy... No creepy what so ever... This is also the first creepy thing I've read... The rest of my fandoms AREN'T creepy! They consist of things like Bones, The Dark Hunters, Janet Evanovich, Doctor Who (that's a little creepy... But I mainly read TenxRose, so no Weeping Angels...), and NCIS (TIVA FOREVER!)... So I'm completely out of my element...

I feel, looking at the stories I've read, that a lot of people are also in the same boat, where they are just trying out writing "creepy" stories (while remaining in compliance with DA regulations, cause they don't want to get kicked off) and really have no experience writing it before...

While there is an overload of some pasta x reader pairings (ex: Jeff the Killer) that aren't that creepy/good/accurate-to-canon, there are also some people who are trying to make stabs at writing "creepy".

Perhaps, instead of just ranting about it, people who have made successful creepypasta OCs or even just successful "creepy" stories could make some tutorials... Just a walk through their writing process and how they go about making their stories realistic/creepy/scary/etc...

I see a lot of hate towards CPxReaders too, where people complain that the pastas aren't creepy enough... Well maybe instead of complaining about it people should offer USEFUL criticism to the authors. The process of writing a successful, or even halfway decent, xReader fic is hard. Add having to write "creepy" to it, which is a personal thing because not everyone finds the same things creepy, and it is REALLY HARD...

So, yeah, people who complain but don't try and help people make their stories better should just zip it. If you are going to say someone's story stinks but aren't going to try and help them make their stories better, then you're just part of the problem.... Putting potential authors down and discouraging from trying new things, instead of encouraging them and helping them to get better... Shame on you...

Sorry for responding to your rant with a rant, but I feel like I needed to say this....

Im fucking sick of all the fandom shit

1 Creepypasta sex and shippings
2 Oc's, WITHOUT A FUCKING STORY
3 Fangirls like : OOH JEFF ur so sexy, i wanna marry u blablabla. And even don't care if they get killed.
4 The people with so ugly art, get many comments, and the people with beautiful art, get no comments.
5 Thinking a creepypasta is your own, so make things like : Jeff the superhero, Ben the dinosaur, Slenderman the mutant *yes i know people who do these stuff*
6 People who think all creepypastas live in a mansion or something, and are friends. Morst creepypastas don't even know eachother.
7 People who make stories, that ruin whole other story lines. Like homicidal Liu.
9 Okay, Jeff is mah favorite creepypasta, BUT HE'S NOT IMMORTAL!!!

and at last
10 People who draw creepypastas in a way theyre not. Im not saying you have to draw them like everyone does, but the sixpacks and the naked stuff is just very, very weird.

If it irritates you that much, then why not leave the fandom/community? No one is forcing you to stay in it, and if you're not in it and it bothers you, why acknowledge it in such a manner? Yes, Creepypasta's are supposed to be scary stories and most likely shouldn't involve sex/nudity unless something macabre or horrendous follows suit; but this is hardly the way to react to it.

1) I don't see how shippings are a problem unless that is all they have going for them. Truly, characters can be shipped and still retain a scare factor or instill fear in some form.

2) Yes, it is troublesome when characters come without stories, but you know, that may be just because the creator is still working on one.

3) Fangirls are a part of every fandom/community. If you don't like them, don't join any fandom/community, they are in every, single one, and they have the right to support things as they wish (even if they do go a bit overboard with it sometimes.)

4) No art is 'ugly', it's called starting at the bottom and working your way up. No one is born a regular Leonardo Da Vinci. The reason others like their art so much? Because they admire that others post their work regardless of the quality. But those with great art might get no comments because they don't advertise enough or what they draw/sculpt/photograph, might not be in anyone's taste, maybe even that no one knows what to put. Comments aren't everything.

5) While a few do this, it doesn't necessarily mean they think they 'own' the character, they might have just tried to make something creative for the sake of having fun.

6) The 'Pasta Monsters' story/idea (that is what I have come to call it simply because of the Pasta Monsters comic that became so popular), is a shared opinion. I myself don't very much like it, but I leave people alone about it. Everyone has an opinion and everyone has a conflicting opinion to an opinion.

7) Just because someone made something that isn't to your taste, doesn't mean they 'ruined' it. If you don't like it, then move on with your life and find something that you DO like.

8) (you jumped 8 btw)

9) That's great if you don't see him as immortal. Truly, he's not; he's a human who's gone crazy, cut off his eyelids, cut his mouth in the Chelsea smile, and kills people.

10) If you find it weird, that's your opinion, personally, I don't like drawing buff/perfect characters unless there is a reason behind it.

Please try and be more considerate of those around you as this is a large community.

That's all fine and dandy that you're expressing your opinion and that you don't care if people disagree with it, however, there is no need to sling curse words in your disagreement/opinion. You can very well express an opinion without the usage of curse words, calling any art that isn't amazing as 'ugly', acting like the entire fandom is out to ruin everything for you, and ultimately acting as though you're an expert on what the fandom is about. If you don't like something, fine, you don't have to like it, but please refrain from being so bias. Not all of what you mentioned is what the fandom is.

And if you don't mind listening...I do think that some of these fan girls should seek therapy. Like, the two girls who murdered their friend to be a Slenderman Proxy...the mentality of some of these people is more frightening than the story itself..

I've calmed down after I wrote that message, I know all fandoms are like that.
In no die hard fan either, but sometimes fandoms can get ridiculous. I'm in a couple fandom's that are dubbed "the worst".

I know, the news of the slender stabbing spread like wild fire. Its a disturbing thought of what people are capable of doing just to praise a non-existing being. I do hope those girls seek serious mental help.
I do feel concerned for those who claim to have seen\date\be married to these nonexistent beings, not because they're fictional, but its the thought that they're praising creatures that are psychotic killers.

I was frightened when I was reading the first thinking "am I a rabid fangirl" (50% rabid I think). I do love shipping my OCs with Canon Creepypastas and I tend to dislike Canon characters that are shipped with a OC but I don't comment on fanart saying "HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE WITH MY OC". I just make fanart and hope to heaven that people like it despite my bad drawing skills. I agree with you on the reader x creepypasta all the way though. First of all their technically isn't a mansion. Some pastas don't even know each other. They find their own places. I really don't believe that a insane human/demon/ whatever the fuck would fall for a human in the first place. If they where to love anyone it would be another creepypasta that has a personality similar to themselves. They would most likely be all lovey dovey for a while and then become all hatred mode and then back to lovey dovey and the cycle goes on. If my OC got in a relationship she would get pouty easily or just really mad. But then she would act all sweet and innocent and boom back to cute ship again cycle. But to be a good couple they would most likely have to kill together. Also I dislike the personalities that the internet fangirls have given the creepypastas. Like Toby is sarcastic and can be a little bitch to hang out with not some childish guy who loves waffles. Also why is it that in the stories every male wants the bang the reader. You got Ben with a nose bleed Jack trying to be all gentle menly and jeff literally just trying to hump her right their! It should be focused on just the reader and the creepypasta. Good rant I agree with you

My god! I loved this rant This is exactly how I feel sometimes! A good reader insert  needs to be original! Not many stories of that sort has relationships where the Pasta character sees the reader as a family member, is not that gory and doesn't swear every other sentence. This and the overly gorey pastas are really starting to bug me. YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE GORE TO BE SCARY OR SHOCKING PEOPLE. Honestly, I prefer my horror to be more psychological-when the killer/demon/kawaiimuppetfuck screws with your head. And I'm sad to say, I haven't found much good pasta with those types of characters. Now, I'm not saying I hate gore altogether. Why the fuck would I even be in this fandom if I didn't appreciate a little disembowelment every now and then? But could we just chill on the OC's who gouge their eyes out and slit their faces because "OMG JEFF THE KILLER IS MY WAIFU"? Like seriously, can we? Finally someone who has my same opinion! Yes! Terror does not lay in body horror, it's the other way around, the human brain doesn't recognise the entity, monster or creature as real and/or possible, and this is how fear is born! Gore and violence are just minor details.
I have just finished reading one of the creepiest story ever (the penpal series) and really, there is almost no blood at all! ((I think I'll never let anyone take a photo of me ever again tbh))
My favourite creepypasta writer ever, SlimeBeast (author of Funnymouth  and Abandoned by Disney), in most of his(?) stories avoids gore and guts. And are they creepy? Hell yes.

And the guy who wrote Candle Cove, Kris Straub, he's another really talented writer who doesn't utilize much gore in his writing. Honestly, it's gotten to the point that whenever I hear "There was blood and guts EVERYWHERE" I just zone out like it's just a commercial on T.V. that I've seen a thousand times, so it's not funny anymore.

I agree with that: a lone drop of blood in a clean bed, or a couple of words at the end of a story can be more frightening than turning it into a visit to the slaughterhouse. But it requires some talent.

I'll look into that one. And while it may sound hypocritcal, I actually enjoyed the original Laughing Jack story. Not because of the gore or anything-it was a tad excessive- but because of how realistically the mother's desire to protect her son and subsequent madness after her failure to that drew me in. Hell, maybe I'd even be able to tolerate "gore pastas" more if they just had more sincere emotions in them instead of "Oh poor me, no one understands my emo angst. I will all teh peepulz."

The stuff I saw on a japanese website: I swear I saw a pregnant jeff somewhere making out with an asian guy ~

xD No problem with the cursing. With the kind of rants I write, this rant is like watching Barney. (Not calling this stupid, I just mean I'm a potty mouth.)

I left the fandom because the creator of Jane the killer is an old friend of mine, and I was defending her in his honor. I seriously couldn't stand all the hate he was getting for creating her, and I refused to associate with anyone who didn't respect the fact that I liked Jane, and her creator. And NOBODY would respect it, so I left. A lot of people in the creepypasta fandom are really just stubborn and overly-opinionated. "You like Jane? GTFO. You like her creator? You must be an idiot."

I also left because I was picked on for having an OC paired with Slenderman. I wish people would have read up on my OC instead of just assuming she was a rainbow kawaii sparkle Slender or an emo gothy depressing Slender. She wasn't either. Heck, she wasn't even a killer. She was frail and scrawny and had only even bothered to kill two people that always annoyed her. No, they didn't abuse her. Just annoyed her. She wasn't abused, she doesn't have any cliche or overdone "edgy" things about her. (Okay maybe she has one or two, but every character needs to or they'll just be boring.)

I also find it ridiculous that people have a problem with OC's paired with Slenderman even if they're of his species. I doubt he would brutally murder another being just like him.

It always happens when there is a charismatic villain in an artwork. He/she/it is scary but usually appealing in its own twisted way, so a misguided part of the fandom sees it and says "that's cool" and tries to monopolize that character for their own stories, either pairing it with their OC's, or using it as a base for creating their own OC. Problem is... they tend to forget that the main trait of the character is that he/she/it is.. evil. We are talking about villains here! They are not cute, lovely or "kewl". They can have their redeeming qualities or some human trait, but their main purpose is to scare us, to disgust us, to keep us trembling under our bedsheets at night.
Creepypastas were born to instill fear, and we have to make sure that they keep fulfilling that purpose. So I want to propose you something:
Epater le bourgueois
I want to invite all of you to flood the group with your best creepypasta. Let's sit in front of our keyboards and start writing, with only one idea in mind: to scare. Forget about heroic fights, cool killer guys in hoodies, or superntural romances. Think on what makes YOU scared, and translate it to words, and then post it.
Let's make all of those Jeff-kissers, Slender-snoggers hide under their beds ;)

PS: sorry if I sounded a bit harsh. It's just a personal pet peeve

i totally agree
i am most dissapointed in the ocs they make and the art they draw
The ocs are not all bad but some are , i am not gonna mention names here but lets just say sexiness is not creepy at all
And the art is kinda dissapointing because a lot of people draw cp monster either sexy or cute, and im not saying its bad but it is bad when its too much , i love how some artist draw jeff the killer in a very creepy way but some also draw him having a six pack
